At Five Lanes CE Primary School, our work is shaped by our Christian vision:

Rooted in the values of Trust, Respect and Compassion, our ethos is warm, inclusive and focused on helping every child feel safe, valued and able to succeed. We aim to build strong relationships, nurture character, and provide an ambitious curriculum that enables all pupils to grow academically, socially and spiritually.
Each year, we publish our School Improvement Plan to outline the key priorities we are working on and how these will support pupils’ learning, development and wellbeing. Our priorities for 2026–27 reflect our school’s context and the areas we aim to strengthen further.
Our priorities this year are:

Curriculum implementation and teaching Strengthening sequencing, modelling and adaptive teaching so pupils build knowledge securely over time.

Reading, writing and early language Developing strong early foundations and improving fluency, vocabulary and writing across the school.

Inclusion and provision for vulnerable learners Ensuring pupils with additional needs receive timely, effective support and can access the full curriculum.

Early Years curriculum and provision Building secure early foundations in language, reading, writing and maths through purposeful mixed‑age provision.

Church school distinctiveness Embedding our Christian vision, strengthening spirituality across the curriculum, and raising the profile and sequencing of RE.
These priorities guide our work throughout the year and help ensure that every child is well supported, challenged and prepared for the next stage of their education.
